Adding Gateways to Indoor Layout Instructions

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for placing readers and gateways on custom maps within the database interface for accurate location tracking and monitoring.

Reader/Gateway Placement Process

Step 1: Access Custom Maps Interface

  1. From the homepage of your database, navigate to Admin → Custom Maps → database_name

Step 2: Initiate Reader Placement

  1. Click on Place Readers to access the reader positioning interface

Step 3: Position Readers/Gateways

  1. Move and place the Readers/Gateways according to their actual physical locations and real-world placements for accurate mapping representation

Step 4: Verify Reader Status

  1. Once Readers/Gateways are active, they will appear as blue on the main map indicating proper functionality

Troubleshooting: If readers appear as gray, they may not be configured correctly:

  • Unplug and plug back in the Reader/Gateway to reset connection

  • If issue persists, return to step 3b and repeat setup steps, formatting and reinitializing the gateway

This process ensures accurate reader placement and proper system functionality for optimal tracking and monitoring capabilities.
