Why the in-cab view is too dark at night

Infrared (IR) night vision on ZenCAM in-cab cameras turns on automatically. It is not a setting you can enable or adjust, and there is no toggle for it in the portal.

If the in-cab view stays too dark at night even though IR should be active, this is usually a hardware fault rather than a configuration issue.

How to check whether IR is working

Look for small red lights around the camera lens after dark. If they are lit, IR is active and the darkness has another cause, such as an obstructed or dirty lens.

If they are not lit, the IR module has failed. There is nothing to reconfigure in this case: a camera whose IR sensor is not working is replaced under RMA. Contact support to arrange it.
