SurfSight Camera: External Power Test for an Unresponsive Camera
Written By Vishal Singh
This applies to SurfSight cameras only.
Use this when a SurfSight camera is unresponsive, especially after a physical impact (for example, being dropped), before concluding the unit is damaged.
External power test
- Disconnect the camera from the vehicle.
- Connect it directly to a 2A USB wall power source, or a compatible USB-C cable.
- Leave it connected for 30–60 minutes.
- Check for any indicator lights or screen activation.
If there is no response after the external power test, treat the unit as damaged and start an RMA.
