1. What ZenDoor Does
ZenDoor is a compact wireless door sensor that:
Detects door open / closed status using a magnetic sensor
Measures ambient temperature near the door
Advertises its data via Bluetooth to a compatible gateway (vehicle tracker, camera, or receiver)
Relies on a nearby gateway to forward data to the platfor
ZenDoor is commonly used on trailers, containers, and enclosures where door activity and temperature visibility are required.
2. Before You Start
You will need:
A ZenDoor device and its matching magnet
Access to the device label (for identification)
A smartphone or tablet with Bluetooth enabled
KBeacon Pro app installed
Available on iOS (App Store)
Available on Android (Google Play)
Note:
ZenDoor devices do not use passwords for configuration.
3. Step 1 β Activate the Device
ZenDoor is activated by removing the battery isolation tab:
Locate the small plastic tab on the device.
Pull the tab out completely.
Once removed, the battery makes contact and the device powers on automatically.
The device will immediately begin advertising over Bluetooth.
There is no button and no additional power-on step.
4. Step 2 β Mounting the Device and Magnet
For accurate door detection:
Choose mounting locations
Mount ZenDoor on the fixed surface (door frame, wall, or container frame)
Mount the magnet on the moving part of the door (or vice versa).
Alignment and distance
When the door is closed, the magnet must align with the sensor area on ZenDoor.
Ensure the distance between the device and magnet is within a few centimeters when closed.
If the gap is too large, the door may always report as open.
Secure installation
Use appropriate mounting hardware (adhesive or screws depending on surface).
Ensure both the device and magnet are firmly mounted and do not shift during door movement.
5. Step 3 β Verify Device Advertising in KBeacon Pro
Open KBeacon Pro on your phone.
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
Start scanning for nearby devices.
Locate the ZenDoor beacon in the list (by MAC address or label reference)
Select the device to view its advertising data.
What to verify
The device is visible and advertising
Door status changes when the door is opened and closed
Temperature values are present and reasonable
Battery level is reported and not low
If the door status does not change, recheck magnet alignment and distance.
6. Step 4 β Add ZenDoor to ZenduOne and Verify Data
6.1 Add ZenDoor as a BLE Beacon
Log in to ZenduOne.
Navigate to the appropriate Assets / Devices section.
Add a new device:
Device Type: BLE Beacon
Enter the ZenDoor identifier (MAC address or serial, per your tenant setup)
Assign the beacon to the correct customer/account.
6.2 Link ZenDoor to a Gateway Asset
ZenDoor requires a compatible tracker or camera to act as a BLE gateway.
Open the asset that will act as the gateway.
Enable BLE scanning for that asset.
Add or whitelist the ZenDoor beacon:
Ensure the beacon is allowed and recognized
Configure it as a Door Sensor where applicable
Save changes.
6.3 Verify Door Status and Temperature
Open the asset live view or details page in ZenduOne.
Test door behavior:
Close the door β confirm status shows Closed
Open the door β confirm status shows Open
Verify temperature readings:
Confirm temperature values are displayed
Ensure readings make sense for the environment
Refresh the view if needed, depending on reporting intervals.
If data does not appear, verify:
The device is advertising in KBeacon Pro
The gateway is within range
BLE configuration and whitelisting are correct
