1. What ZenTemp+ Does

ZenTemp+ is a rugged environmental sensor designed to monitor:

  • Ambient temperature

  • Humidity levels

ZenTemp+ advertises sensor data over Bluetooth and requires a compatible BLE gateway (vehicle tracker, camera, or receiver) to forward readings to the platform.

ZenTemp+:

  • Contains an external button for powering on/off

  • Non replaceable battery access

  • Does not provide GPS or motion telemetry

2. Before You Start

You will need:

  • A ZenTemp+ device

  • Compatible BLE gateway

  • Screwdriver

  • Smartphone with Bluetooth enabled

  • KBeacon Pro app installed (iOS or Android)

No password is required.

3. Step 1 – Powering On / Off the Device

ZenTemp+ uses an external power button located on the casing.

  1. Power ON / OFF:

    • Press and hold the internal button to turn the device on or off.

Note: Ensure screws are fully tightened to preserve IP protection and avoid environmental damage. These devices are shipped with the power on

4. Step 2 – Verify Advertising and Sensor Data in KBeacon Pro

  1. Open KBeacon Pro.

  2. Enable Bluetooth on your phone.

  3. Scan for nearby BLE devices.

  4. Locate ZenTemp+ by MAC address or label.

  5. Select the device to view details.

Confirm the following:

  • Device is visible and advertising

  • Battery level is adequate

  • Temperature reading is present and reasonable

  • Humidity reading is present and reasonable

This ensures the device is functioning before deployment.

5. Step 3 – Add ZenTemp+ to ZenduOne

5.1 Add as a BLE Beacon

  1. Log in to ZenduOne.

  2. Navigate to BLE Beacon or Devices section.

  3. Add a new beacon:

    • Type: BLE Beacon / Sensor

    • Enter ZenTemp+ identifier (MAC or serial)

  4. Assign to the correct customer/account

5.2 Link ZenTemp+ to a Gateway / Asset

  1. Open the asset acting as the BLE gateway.

  2. Enable BLE scanning if not already enabled.

  3. Add ZenTemp+ to the BLE configuration (or whitelist).

  4. Save changes.

6. Step 4 – Verify Temperature & Humidity in ZenduOne

  1. Bring ZenTemp+ within BLE range of the gateway.

  2. Open live or asset view in ZenduOne.

  3. Confirm:

    • Temperature values display correctly

    • Humidity values display correctly

  4. Refresh as needed based on reporting intervals.

If data does not appear:

  • Confirm the device is powered on

  • Check battery level

  • Verify BLE scanning and whitelisting on the gateway

  • Ensure the device is assigned to the correct asset
