1. What ZenMini Does

ZenMini is a wireless identification tag that also reports ambient temperature. ZenMini is used to:

  • Identify a specific driver, user, or asset presence

  • Provide temperature readings near the tag

  • Advertise a unique Bluetooth identifier

  • Be detected by compatible BLE gateways (vehicle trackers, cameras, or receivers)

Note: ZenMini does not include a panic button, does not provide GPS or motion telemetry, and requires a gateway device to forward data to the platform.

2. Before You Start

You will need:

  • A ZenMini device

  • A compatible BLE gateway

  • A smartphone with Bluetooth enabled

  • KBeacon Pro app installed (iOS or Android)

Note: No password or pairing code is required.

3. Step 1 – Powering On the Device

ZenMini ships powered on.

⚠️ Note: The battery is not replaceable. Avoid opening the casing after activation.

4. Step 2 – Verify Advertising and Temperature in KBeacon Pro

  1. Open KBeacon Pro and enable Bluetooth on your phone.

  2. Scan for nearby BLE devices.

  3. Locate ZenMini using its MAC address or label.

  4. Select the device to view details.

Confirm the following:

  • The device is visible and advertising.

  • Battery level is reported and not low.

  • Temperature reading is present and reasonable for the environment.

5. Step 3 – Add ZenMini to ZenduOne

5.1 Add as a BLE Beacon

  1. Log in to ZenduOne and navigate to the BLE Beacon or Devices section.

  2. Add a new beacon:

    • Type: BLE Beacon / ID Tag

    • Identifier: MAC or serial

  3. Assign it to the correct customer/account.

5.2 Assign ZenMini to a Driver, User, or Asset

  1. Open the appropriate Driver, User, or Asset profile.

  2. Link the ZenMini beacon and save changes.

6. Step 4 – Verify Presence and Temperature in ZenduOne

  1. Bring ZenMini within BLE range of the gateway.

  2. Open live or asset view in ZenduOne.

  3. Confirm: The ID is detected and temperature values are displayed.

If data does not appear:

  • Verify advertising in KBeacon Pro and check battery level.

  • Confirm BLE scanning and whitelisting on the gateway.

  • Ensure the device is assigned correctly in the platform.
