1. What ZenTemp Does
ZenTemp is a wireless environmental sensor designed to monitor:
Ambient temperature
Humidity levels
ZenTemp advertises sensor data over Bluetooth and must be detected by a compatible BLE gateway (vehicle tracker, camera, or receiver) to forward readings to the platform.
ZenTemp:
Is not ruggedized and intended for indoor or protected environments
Does not provide GPS or motion telemetry
Requires a gateway device to report data
2. Before You Start
You will need:
A ZenTemp device
A compatible BLE gateway
A smartphone with Bluetooth enabled
KBeacon Pro app installed (iOS or Android)
No password is required.
3. Step 1 β Powering On / Off the Device
ZenTemp uses an external button for power control.
To power ON:
Press and hold the external button to turn the device on.
The device will begin advertising automatically.
To power OFF:
Press and hold the external button again to turn the device off.
4. Step 2 β Verify Advertising and Sensor Data in KBeacon Pro
Open KBeacon Pro.
Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
Scan for nearby BLE devices.
Locate ZenTemp by MAC address or label.
Select the device to view details.
Confirm the following:
Device is visible and advertising
Battery level is reported and not low
Temperature reading is present
Humidity reading is present
Values make sense for the current environment
This confirms the device is functioning correctly before deployment.
5. Step 3 β Add ZenTemp to ZenduOne
5.1 Add as a BLE Beacon
Log in to ZenduOne.
Navigate to the BLE Beacon or Devices section.
Add a new beacon:
Type: BLE Beacon / Sensor
Enter the ZenTemp identifier (MAC or serial)
Assign it to the correct customer/account.
5.2 Link ZenTemp to a Gateway / Asset
Open the asset (vehicle or device) acting as the BLE gateway.
Enable BLE scanning if not already enabled.
Add ZenTemp to the BLE configuration (or whitelist, if used).
Save changes.
6. Step 4 β Verify Temperature & Humidity in ZenduOne
Bring ZenTemp within BLE range of the gateway.
Open the live or asset view in ZenduOne.
Confirm:
Temperature values are displayed
Humidity values are displayed
Allow time for reporting based on configured intervals.
If data does not appear:
Verify advertising in KBeacon Pro
Confirm the device is powered on
Check battery level
Verify BLE scanning and whitelisting on the gateway
Ensure the device is assigned to the correct asset
