Do you need the database name in the Geotab Drive web login URL?
Written By Vishal Singh
No. Including the database name in the URL is optional when you log in to Geotab Drive on the web.
The login screen lets you set the database yourself, alongside your username and password, so you can choose the correct database without it being part of the URL.
The database name in the URL is not required for Geotab Drive web login.
You can instead enter or select the database on the login screen when you enter your username and password.
Both approaches work. Having the database name in the URL is a convenience, not a requirement.
If the URL does include a database name (for example my.geotab.com/<database>/drive), it must be your company's database. A wrong database name in the URL makes the web login fail without a clear error, even when the same username and password work in the mobile app. Correct the database name in the URL, or remove it and choose the database on the login screen.
If you're having trouble logging in and aren't sure which database to use, enter your username and password and use the database option on the login screen, rather than assuming the URL must contain it.
