Turning off the driver-facing (in-cab) camera on a ZenCAM device
Written By Vishal Singh
Some fleets, particularly union or privacy-sensitive ones, need the driver-facing (in-cab) camera view disabled before they will approve a rollout. For a ZenCAM device in ZenduONE there are two ways to do this.
Option A: disable the channel yourself
The driver-facing camera is channel 2. That is the channel to disable.
- Go to Alarms > Video > Privacy Mode.
- Enable Privacy Mode.
- Disable channel 2.
- Disable Privacy Mode.
- Save.
Option B: ask support
Contact support to have the in-cab channel disabled for the affected devices.
If a channel you did not intend to disable is now refusing video downloads while live view still works, see the separate article on privacy mode blocking downloads.
This procedure is specific to ZenCAM devices in ZenduONE. It does not apply to Geotab GO Focus cameras in MyGeotab, which use a different and separately documented procedure.
