1. What ZenID Does

ZenID is a wireless identification beacon with an integrated panic button, used to:

  • Identify a specific driver or user near or inside a vehicle

  • Associate driver presence with trips, events, or assets

  • Allow the user to trigger a manual panic/emergency event via the button

  • Advertise a unique Bluetooth ID for detection by compatible gateways

ZenID does not collect GPS, vehicle telemetry, or sensor data.
It relies on a nearby BLE gateway (vehicle tracker, camera, or receiver) to capture and forward events to the platform.

2. Before You Start

You will need:

  • A ZenID device

  • A compatible BLE gateway

  • A smartphone with Bluetooth enabled

  • KBeacon Pro app installed (iOS or Android)

No password is required to scan or configure the device.

3. Step 1 – Powering On the Device

ZenID ships powered on.

  1. Carefully open the ZenID casing.

  2. Insert or verify the battery is installed correctly.

  3. Close the casing securely.

Once powered, ZenID automatically begins advertising its ID and button capability over Bluetooth.

Note:
Battery replacement is supported, but the casing must be opened carefully to avoid damaging seals or internal components.

4. Step 2 – Verify Advertising and Button in KBeacon Pro

  1. Open KBeacon Pro.

  2. Enable Bluetooth on your phone.

  3. Scan for nearby BLE devices.

  4. Locate ZenID using its MAC address or label.

  5. Select the device to view details.

Verify the following:

  • Device is visible and advertising

  • Battery level is reported and not low

  • The advertised identifier is stable

  • Pressing the button generates an advertising event (if supported by the app view)

This confirms the ID and panic button are functioning.

5. Step 3 – Configure Button Behavior (If Required)

If button-triggered events are needed:

  • Ensure the ZenID is configured to advertise on button press

  • Confirm the correct payload (iBeacon or trigger-based advertisement) is active

  • Avoid modifying advertising intervals or power unless instructed

Configuration is typically pre-set during fulfillment.

6. Step 4 – Add ZenID to ZenduOne

6.1 Add ZenID as a BLE Beacon

  1. Log in to ZenduOne.

  2. Navigate to the BLE Beacon or Devices section.

  3. Add a new beacon:

    • Type: BLE Beacon / ID Tag

    • Enter the ZenID identifier (MAC or serial)

  4. Assign it to the correct customer/account.

6.2 Assign ZenID to a Driver or User

  1. Open the Driver or User profile in ZenduOne.

  2. Link the ZenID beacon to that profile.

  3. Save changes.

When ZenID is detected by a gateway, the platform will associate the driver with the vehicle or asset.

7. Step 5 – Verify Driver Presence and Panic Events

  1. Bring ZenID within BLE range of the gateway.

  2. Confirm driver presence appears in the platform.

  3. Press the ZenID button.

  4. Verify the panic or button event is recorded in ZenduOne (event type and behavior depend on platform configuration).

If events do not appear:

  • Confirm advertising and battery level in KBeacon Pro

  • Verify BLE scanning and whitelisting on the gateway

  • Ensure the ZenID is assigned to the correct driver/user
