ZenTRACK Cargo - Operations Guide
(For operations, support & logistics teams)
Written By Support Team
1. Purpose & Scope
This guide explains how ZenTRACK Cargo behaves in operation and how it is used by logistics/fleet/operations:
What data it provides
How it communicates
How it fits in tracking workflows
2. Operational Behavior
Once deployed and powered, ZenTRACK Cargo:
Uses its internal battery for operation (no external power needed).
Acquires GNSS for location and movement (as supported by ST-4410 config).
Add the device on ZenduOne Platform as new Asset:
Use the middle section of the ESN, highlighted in yellow above, as the device Serial Number in ZenduOne, the fulfillment system, and all other internal records.

Choose Suntech as Tracker Type.
Sends:
Position reports (location, speed, heading)
Movement/idle information (depending on profile)
Basic status events (battery level, connection events, etc., based on configuration)
Because it is portable and disposable, it is typically used for:
Shipment tracking
Temporary asset tracking
Monitoring the movement of boxes/pallets/containers.
3. Role in ZenduOne / ZenduIT
In ZenduOne (or your ZenduIT platform):
ZenTRACK Box is typically configured as an asset tracker.
It may be:
Mapped to a shipment or pallet ID
Assigned to a temporary asset profile
Operations teams can:
View the current location of the shipment/box
Check historical movement (route history)
Monitor battery status (if mapped) and last communication time
4. Operational Best Practices
Maintain a mapping:
Shipment ID / pallet / container β Device IMEI / Serial.
Before sending high-value shipments:
Confirm the device has recently reported.
Confirm the battery was charged in fulfillment.
After shipment is complete:
Update the deviceβs assignment in the platform (e.g., unassign from old shipment).
Decide whether the device will be reused or treated as disposable, based on your internal policy and remaining battery.
5. ZenTRACK Box β Troubleshooting & FAQ
5.1 Troubleshooting
Issue 1: No LEDs / device appears dead during fulfillment
Possible causes:
Power key set to OFF.
Internal battery not connected.
Battery fully depleted.
How to check:
Confirm the power key is switched to ON.
Open the housing and check the battery connector is attached.
Connect the device via USB and see if:
LEDs light up or blink.
It is recognized by Synctrak.
If there is still no response, escalate for technical review/RMA.
Issue 3: Device configured but not sending data to platform
Possible causes:
Incorrect server settings.
SIM inactive or no data plan.
Poor cellular coverage.
Issue 4: Battery drains faster than expected
Possible causes:
Very aggressive reporting interval in the configuration.
Extended use beyond intended lifetime.
Very poor coverage causing repeated reconnection attempts.
Issue 5: Device seems online but assigned to wrong shipment/asset
Possible causes:
Serial Number was mapped to the wrong asset or shipment in the platform.
Mixed-up devices during fulfillment or installation.
How to check:
Verify IMEI/serial in the platform vs the physical device label.
Correct the assignment in ZenduOne:
Reassign the device to the correct shipment/asset.
Update internal inventory records to avoid future confusion.
