ZenTRACK Yabby Operations Guide
(For operations, support teams, and fleet admins)
1. Purpose and Scope
This guide describes the operational behavior of the ZenTRACK Yabby and its integration with the ZenduOne platform. It provides essential information regarding data expectations, the asset registration workflow, and technical connectivity.
2. ZenduOne Details
Overview
In ZenduOne, the ZenTRACK Yabby is managed as a specialized battery-powered asset tracker. Due to its hardware design, it focuses on long-term monitoring rather than high-frequency real-time updates. It provides:
Trip Tracking and History: Visual breadcrumb trails of asset movement and historical stop/start locations.
Movement and Accelerometer Data: Detection of vibration or movement to trigger "wake-up" logs, ensuring the device only consumes high power when the asset is active.
Battery Status and Alerts: Real-time monitoring of battery voltage with automated "Battery Low" or "Battery Critical" notifications to ensure maintenance is scheduled before the device goes offline.
Creation Process
To register a ZenTRACK Yabby in the platform, follow these steps:
Select โ+ Create Assetโ on the Assets page.
Add the Asset Name, Groups, Tags, and any optional data, then click Next.
Tracker Configuration:
Tracker Type: Select โDigital Matter Trackerโ.
Serial Number: Insert the IMEI and Serial Number.
Select the relevant Data Plan and Asset Plan, then click Next.
Add any optional financial data (purchase price, depreciation, etc.) and click Next.
Add any optional sharing data and click Next.
Add any optional comments for internal reference and click Save.
Battery Level Configuration (Required for Battery Reporting)
To enable Device Battery Level reporting for Digital Matter devices, ZenduOne must be configured with specific device identifiers and model information.
Required Configuration
When creating or editing a Digital Matter Asset, ensure the following fields are correctly populated:
1. Model
Select the correct Digital Matter model according to the device model number:
Oyster โ 87
Oyster BLE โ 102
Barra โ 110
Yabby โ 97
*Add only the number in the form field.
2. IMEI
Must be entered in the IMEI field.
This value is found on the device sticker.
3. Serial Number
Must be entered in the Serial Number field.
This value is also found on the device sticker.
Important Notes
All three fields (Model, IMEI, and Serial Number) are mandatory for battery level retrieval.
If any of these fields are missing or incorrect, ZenduOne will not be able to display the device battery level.
Battery data is sourced directly from Digital Matter APIs and depends on accurate device identification.
3. Server Connection
The ZenTRACK Yabby utilizes a cloud-to-cloud integration architecture to ensure data integrity and battery efficiency:
Data Pipeline: The device transmits encrypted data to the Digital Matter Device Manager (OEM Server).
Integration: ZenduOne establishes a secure HTTPS connection to the Device Manager API.
Payload: Data is fetched in JSON format, which is then parsed and displayed within the ZenduOne interface.
